I am Danielle BOKO, a young Beninese woman who is passionate about gender equality and the promotion of the history and culture of people of African descent. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English, and it was my passion for Black history that led me to join PLACE for Africa, an organization that showcases the competences and perspectives of Afrodescendants. I am currently completing a project management internship with them.
Recently, I have been selected to take part in the ASA program 2025, an international cultural exchange. And so for six months, I will collaborate with three organizations: MeineWelt e.V. and PLACE e.V. in Germany, and PLACE for Africa in Benin.
Together, with my tandem, our priority during these months will be to make afrodescendants history and culture known worldwide through the different activities we will be involved in.
For me, this program is a unique opportunity to deepen my skills in the critical analysis of historical data, intercultural communication, and to contribute to the recognition and celebration of the richness and diversity of our history: Black history.
Outside of work, I enjoy interior design, cooking and gospel music. I’m especially looking forward to sharing the inspiring story of the Dahomey Amazons with my tandem partner, as well as one of our dishes: wô with its mantindjan sauce.
