Solidarity, Critical Thinking, and Creativity Against Institutional Racism in Mannheim

Following the successful first think tank in June 2025 on “Racism in the Context of Security and Policing”, we warmly invite you to the second think tank as part of the SAMIO project.

This think tank will focus on a space where social inequalities often appear early and shape experiences profoundly: education. In schools, daycares, clubs, youth centers, continuing education institutions, or other learning environments, not only knowledge is conveyed—but also power, belonging, and exclusion are negotiated.

Together with you, we want to discuss:

• How does racism manifest in schools and extracurricular education?

• What experiences and perspectives do parents, students, and educational actors bring?

• Which racism-critical approaches can we strengthen together and sustainably anchor in institutions?

The event will include a thematic input, space for exchange, strategic reflection, and collaborative brainstorming.

We invite everyone involved in shaping education—whether as teachers, parents, activists, extracurricular educators, social workers, volunteers, or decision-makers.
