An online conversation marking the anniversary of a case of police violence that our team experienced on 27 April 2023 in Mannheim. During this discussion, we will address the system behind police violence and explore how such violence leaves lasting traces-often in the form of trauma that can be passed down across generations.
When: 27 April 2026
Time: 16:30 – 18:30 (Benin time)
Registration: urlr.me/A2M3wc
We will focus in particular on the following question: How can a process of Black healing exist today within a system of white violence-at the individual, collective, and political levels?
Our invited experts will discuss structural police violence, trauma support, Black healing, and Black liberation.
Our guests include:
Mohamed Amjahid, journalist and essayist based in Germany and author of the book “Alles nur Einzelfälle? Das System hinter der Polizeigewalt” (“All Just Isolated Cases? The System Behind Police Violence”).
Armelle Lucrèce Abadagan, clinical psychologist in Benin and therapeutic support practitioner for people affected by violence.
Following the discussion, starting at 19:30, we invite non-white participants to join a 30-minute informal exchange in a closed breakout space to share thoughts and emotions.
The event will take place in German and French, with bilingual simultaneous interpretation.
We look forward to this exchange with you!
