Together let’s write about the Schönau

At the end of May 1992, a rumor provoked racist riots and attempts to storm the then Lilienthalstrasse barracks in Mannheim Schönau by about 200 refugees. To mark the 30th anniversary of these riots and in the framework of the International Week Against Racism, the Black Academy through its coordinator Nicole Amoussou is participating in the launch event organized by the city of Mannheim to commemorate the International Week Against Racism (IWgR). The Académie Noire will contribute to this event by hosting a workshop on the theme of “Solidarity Memory” in a world café format on 21.03.2023 from 18.10 – 19.10 at Die Villa, Bromberger Baumgang 18, 68307 Mannheim, Deutschland.

It is our common duty to remind, warn and strengthen the commitment of citizens against racism for a better living together with all social strata in the city of Mannheim.
