The Black Academy initiative of MeineWelt e.V. and PLACE e.V., in cooperation with the City of Mannheim and the Goethe Institut Mannheim, is organising a hybrid workshop entitled ELEKE on Monday 31 July 2023 to mark International Pan-African Women’s Day.

This commemoration will not only pay tribute to the “Foremothers of Africa” who fought for the continent’s liberation and development, but will also serve as a reminder of the essential role played by African women, who remain the backbone of local economies as activists, entrepreneurs and leaders in many other sectors.
