Exhibition & exchange around Black personalities

Together with its partners, Black Academy team invites you to its hybrid event of the Likôda project at the Saal Mannheimer Abendakademie (U1, 16-19 | 68161 Mannheim) on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 10:00 – 13:30pm (German time).

During this event, we will put you in touch with the inspiring black personalities of the Likôda project after a keynote presentation by an external guest on the topic of remembrance culture in the context of the history of Black people. The keynote will give you an idea of how we remember black personalities? And what place do we give in the public arena to their experiences of oppression and lack of recognition, which still persist today?

It will also be an opportunity to find out what the Black Academy has achieved in 2023 and what it is planning for next year. At the exhibition with accompanying program, you can explore the Black Academy’s educational material, enjoy artistic performances, networking and exchange ideas with other interested parties. 

The event will be held on site and online in German with simultaneous French translation. There’ll be something to drink and African gastronomy to taste. Participation is free of charge.
